We will share a framework to cope with the complex nature of natural resources business and commodity markets and cover some of the communication tasks for an IR including managing market expectations for publicly trading companies and preparing investment cases for IPO.

    Natural Resources Research at Renaissance Capital

    Boris is a seasoned natural resources equity research analyst with more that 10 years or experience and professional growth. He started his career at VTB Capital, top investment bank in Russia, where he grew from intern to take #1 Russian Metals & Mining associate analyst in Institutional Investor 2020 ranking based on investors’ votes while gaining numerous top rankings based on corporates votes. Most recently, he headed Renaissance Capital natural resources research franchise (oil & gas + metals & mining).

    Over the course of his career, Boris initiated and led both classic equity research projects (coverage of public companies, marketing investment ideas for global institutional investors in cooperation with sales & trading, ECM research projects incl. IPOs) and non-public projects in the sector. Boris deploys top down and bottom-up approaches in investment ideas generation, which builds up upon his deep-dive into both company’s operational and financial prospectives and relevant global commodity markets.

    Given his passion to the industry, Boris visited most of the largest M&M assets in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and organized industry-specific conferences and trips for institutional investors.
