Trevor Cullinan Director Sovereign Ratings of S&P Global Ratings Trevor Cullinan, a U.K. national, is a Director in the Middle East and CIS Sovereign at S&P Global Ratings, where he has worked since August 2004. He is S&P’s lead analyst for the Middle East and North Africa. Before joining Standard & Poor’s Trevor was a Senior Economist at the CBI, responsible for macroeconomic forecasting of the U.K. economy. He holds a B.A. in Public Administration from Manchester Metropolitan University, and a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of London.

Dr. Mohamed Damak Senior Director / Sector Lead Financial Institutions & Global Head of Islamic Finance at S&P Global Ratings Mohamed Damak is a Senior Director and the Sector Lead for Financial Institutions in the Emerging EMEA region. Mohamed is also the Global Head of Islamic Finance at S&P Global Rating (SPGR). In this capacity Mohamed leads SPGR’s cross-practice analytical thought leadership initiatives and credit rating activities in the Islamic Finance sector globally. In addition to these responsibilities, Mohamed co-heads the Emerging Market Global Industry Focused Team and is a member of several senior forums and research labs including the Digitalization of the Markets Research Lab. Mohamed’s research interests include emerging markets financial institutions, the digitalization of the financial services industry (including cryptocurrencies, stable coins, tokenization, and digital bonds) and Islamic finance. Mohamed is a regular speaker at industry events and conferences. Prior to joining SPGR, Mohamed worked as a Principal Credit Risk Officer for the African Development Bank in Tunis. From 2006 to 2010, Mohamed worked for SPGR covering conventional and Islamic financial institutions in the Middle East and North Africa region. Mohamed holds a PhD in Finance and Master in “Money, Banking and Finance” from University of Paris 2, Pantheon Assas and a Master’s degree in Financial Institutions Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Tunis.

Timucin Engin Senior Director & Cross-Practice Country Coordinator, GCC Region of S&P Global Ratings Timucin Engin is a Senior Director and the Cross-practice Country Coordinator for the GCC region based in Dubai. Prior to this role, Timucin managed our Istanbul office between March 2018 and July 2016 as the Country Manager for Turkey. Prior to that, he was a Director and Sector Specialist in the Financial Services team in our Dubai office. Before joining us in 2011, he spent three years at Dubai Group as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at their investment management desk, and prior to that he worked in various banking and investment research roles in Toronto and Istanbul. Timucin has a B.A. degree in international banking from Bilkent University in Turkey and an MBA degree from University of Ottawa in Canada.

Her portfolio includes companies from various industries including the Real Estate, Utilities, Ports, etc. in the region. Sapna is based in Dubai & joined S&P Global Ratings in January 2012. Prior to this, she was a Manager with CRISIL, India. She spent seven years in CRISIL in various roles in Mumbai & New Delhi. Sapna holds a MBA degree in Finance from the University of Mumbai. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Commerce also from the University of Mumbai.
