The Middle East Investor Relations Association ("MEIRA"), in collaboration with Boursa Kuwait, is delighted to invite you to the upcoming Investor Relations Event: "Strategic communications, challenges and opportunities" on Wednesday 7 June, at 12.30-3.30 pm.

The event will take place at Boursa Kuwait, attendees are required to register. Kindly note that seats are limited and participation will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Chief Communications Officer at Zain Group

Mohammad Abdal is the MEIRA Kuwait Chapter Head. He was appointed Chief Communications Officer of Zain Group effective July 10, 2015, heading three significant divisions within Zain Group: namely Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Governance & Compliance. A Kuwaiti national, Abdal is a home-grown success story having joined Zain in 2001 as a finance executive soon after graduation. Over the next 16 years Abdal rose rapidly through the organization; playing a key role in various aspects of the company’s evolution and success from a local operator in Kuwait to becoming the leading telecom conglomerate it is today.

Abdal graduated in 2001 from Portland State University, Oregon, US with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Finance & Management Information Systems. He has also attended reputable executive programs in recent years that earned him several recognitions as a Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA), a Certified Investor Relations Officer and a Certified Corporate Governance Officer.

Andy is a Managing Director at Teneo with 18 years’ experience. He specialises in working with multinational EMEA companies on all aspects of financial/capital markets communications and investor relations.

Since relocating to the Gulf, Andy has advised ADNOC Drilling and Fertiglobe on their IPOs on ADX and currently provides investor relations and financial communications advice to both companies post listing. Other client experience includes ADNOC, Network International, TAQA, Emirates REIT and BT Group. Previously, he was at Finsbury in London where he was a Managing Director in the Capital Markets practice and Head of the Technology, Media and Telecoms team. In his role, he advised on several IPOs and complex M&A transactions including SoftBank’s acquisition of ARM Holdings plc, the merger of Virgin Media / O2 and the merger of Viacom / CBS whilst on secondment to the New York office. Other clients included Liberty Global, ITV, Siapem, VEON and Snam.

Prior to moving into strategic communications, Andy spent nine years as an equity analyst at UBS and Lehman Brothers and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte. Andy holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics & Politics from the University of Bristol, England.

Paolo is an investor relations and capital markets specialist with 15+ years’ experience in developing industry-leading IR advisory and data services. Paolo looks after the European and MEIRA client’s final delivery reporting requirements. He has advised various companies worldwide on investor relations, shareholder identification, perception studies, targeting and regulatory developments and has been involved in all IR Corporate Advisory aspects including equity and debt ownership research and analysis, disclosure and compliance, proxy solicitation and sales. Prior to OC, Paolo worked at Ipreo, where he headed the International Research and Compliance operations of Corporate Services running ID projects for large cap companies. Paolo speaks Italian and Spanish, holds a BA degree in International Relations and a Master from Cambridge University.
